Penn Theta created another epic booth with SigEp Presents The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The overall theme was "When I Was Your Age," so the brothers of SigEp decided that no one better represented the yearnings of youth than weaponized pizza loving turtles. We had a large city adorning the sides of the booth, with a billboard of the teenage mutant turtles cheering for sigep at the front.
The interior of the booth was complex and fun to design. Brothers took particular pride in many individual projects. Our entrance hallway had real sewer grating and roofing, requiring brothers to learn how to use an acetelyne torch. We had two video games, one of which was designed, along with its skateboard controllers, specifically for booth.
Particular care was given to safety and general layout when designing this booth. Many other organizations looked to us when deciding how to safely create a staircase, tar a roof, or align stud walls. Even three years ago, few individual brothers knew how to handle a circular saw or an impact driver, but upon joining SigEp they worked with their brothers to develop the skills that would deliver us a 2011 first place for the best Booth.
