Why SigEp?
SigEp strives to lead campus. We develop our men into leaders all over campus and for the rest of their lives. We emphasize excellence in all walks of life: we are all required to become a Scholar, a Leader, an Athlete, and a Gentleman.
Why go Greek?
The Carnegie Mellon Greek Community is strong and vibrant. We are supportive of one another in times of need, and we derive great strength from the friendship of our brothers, our colleagues in other houses, and from Carnegie Mellon.
How much does SigEp cost?
SigEp dues are $600 per semester, and the meal plan costs $900 for 15 meals per week. National dues are an additional $275 upon joining. Since most freshmen are on a full meal plan and are allowed to switch off upon joining SigEp, they save a minimum of $1255 per semester on food. SigEp also offers cheap campus housing, and a scholarship program is currently being developed.
Do I have to worry about pledging or hazing?
No. SigEp does not tolerate hazing of any kind. Because we are a Balanced Man chapter, we strive to treat all men as they are worth. Upon joinging SigEp, you will have the full rights and duties of a brother. We allow all brothers to wear our letters because we recognize that if you have what it takes to join, you always strive to improve--reason enough to publicly represent us.
